Collection Schedule Questions and Answers

1. What should I do on collection day?
Place your container in the street at curbside, near the corner of your driveway. Face the
container's handles toward your home, and at least three feet away from any obstruction (fence, lamp, or mailbox). The container must be at curbside by 7:00 am or earlier on your regularly scheduled collection day.

2. Where can I park my car on collection day?
If your car is parked in the driveway or on the street, it must be no closer than three feet to the automated containers. Collection cannot be made if a vehicle blocks access to the containers.

3. Will the same truck pick up all three containers?
No. A separate truck is used to pick up each container. Please be sure that your container has been emptied before removing it from the curb.

4. What if one of my containers is damaged?
If your container is damaged or you need an extra one, contact Anaheim Disposal's Customer Service Department at (714) 238-2444. Participating homes receive one black, green and brown 110 gallon* container as part of our automated collection program. Damaged containers will be repaired or replaced at no charge (except if damage is due to negligence or abuse).  *Smaller 60 gallon containers are available for residents with special needs upon request.

5. How do I dispose of household toxic waste?
The
County of Orange operates the North Orange County Household Hazardous Waste Collection Facility at 1071 North Blue Gum Street in Anaheim. Call the County's Hazardous Hotline at (714) 834-4000 for information and operating hours.

6. What do I do with large or bulky items?
To aid in the disposal of large, bulky items such as refrigerators, furniture, stoves, water heaters, large tree trunks, etc. Anaheim Disposal provides special collections at no charge. Each household will receive up to three bulky items pickups per calendar year and limited to up to 20 items per pickup, and are provided only by appointment. Bulky item pickups are scheduled with Anaheim Disposal's Customer Service Department at (714) 238-2444. Please be prepared to list the items you need picked up.

7. What if I already collect recyclable items for local charity?
Anaheim Disposal encourages community support of charitable organizations. Recyclable materials not accepted by charity should be placed in your green recycling container for collection by Anaheim Disposal. Also, we encourage local charities to redeem their recyclables at CVT's
Recycling Center at 1071 North Blue Gum Street in Anaheim.

Holiday Collection Schedule

Your regular pick-up day for trash and recycling during the holidays will not change unless your collection day falls on or after one of only six holidays.

Christmas Tree Collection Schedule
New Year's Day
Memorial Day
July 4th

Labor Day
Thanksgiving Day

If your normal collection day falls on or after one of the six holidays listed above then place your containers out for collection the day after the regular collection day. All residents whose collection day does not fall on or after one of these holidays should place their containers out on their regular collection day

On the day of trash pickup in your neighborhood, all refuse must be in approved barrels along the curb by 7 a.m. that day. If a holiday falls on your collection day, trash will not be picked up that day. Instead, it will be picked up the following collection day. Items such as building materials, appliances, bulk trash, yard waste, Christmas trees, and recycling materials should not be mixed in with regular household trash as they will not be taken. These items are picked up according to special schedules through Anaheim Disposal.

For more information about the City of Anaheim curbside trash pickup schedule, or to find out what day your trash is picked up, contact Anaheim Disposal at 714-238-2444.
