Recycling (general information)

During 2009, Commerce City is offering single-stream recycling that is free to most residents. Single-stream means that recycled material does not have to be sorted; it can all be placed together in the recycling bins provided. The service is provided by Waste Management of Colorado, and pickup days are every other week on the same day as your regular trash pickup. For more information about pickup days, contact Waste Management at (303) 797-1600.

Which items can be recycled?

Acceptable items include newspaper, office paper, tin/steel and aluminum cans, junk mail, phone books, magazines, glass bottles, cardboard boxes, catalogs, chipboard packaging and plastic (#1 through and #7).

The city also offers a single-stream dropoff location at 7450 Highway 2.
