The City of Hayward does not have regulations regarding the confinement of cats. There is a shelter where stray cats can be taken. Animal Control Officers will respond to injured and sick stray cats.
If you are having a problem with an owned cat, first speak with the cat’s owner and work with them to correct the situation. Should the situation continue, you have the option of taking civil action.
Many businesses rent animal traps. Animal Services can provide contact information for rentals, but does not recommend one business over another.
