The purpose of a Building Permit is to provide minimum standards to safeguard life or limb, health, property and public welfare by regulating and controlling the design, construction, quality of materials, use and occupancy, location and maintenance of all buildings and structures.
A Building Permit is required whenever a building or structure is erected, enlarged, constructed, altered, moved, improved, removed, converted or demolished. A fee is required for the plan check, if required, and the permit. Fees are based on cost of construction, as set by the Master Fee Schedule.
