All construction done for subdivisions, grading/clearing permits, and Public Works encroachment permits is inspected by a City construction inspector. A pre-construction conference is required before work can begin.
Inspection is done to ensure that the work is completed according to the approved plans, City specifications, and acceptable construction practices and procedures.
For subdivisions, the inspector prepares the final construction report when all work has been completed according to approved plans, City standards, and specifications. The report is sent to Planning authorizing:
- certificates of occupancy to be issued
- project acceptance procedures to begin
- partial release of securities
Upon request for grading and clearing permits and Public Works encroachment permits, the owner and/or applicant/developer will be sent a certificate of completion when the inspector is satisfied that the work is completed. Securities will be returned upon satisfactory completion of work.
