All businesses operating in Hayward are to apply for a business license. The license charge may be based on:
- gross receipts
- number of employees
- flat rate
- other method of calculation.
Depending on the type of business, licenses may be issued for one day, or a calendar month, quarter or year. Businesses accrue a penalty of 10% of the amount due, and an additional 10% each month that the license remains unpaid after the delinquency date - to a maximum penalty of 50%.
Call to request that the application be mailed to you. However, the application process has to be done in-person at the Revenue service counter.
