The Stormwater Program has been implemented to minimize the amount of pollution entering the City’s stormwater collection system, which eventually drains to the San Francisco Bay. City Stormwater Management and Urban Runoff Control regulations are described in the Hayward Municipal Code.
The City of Hayward is a member of the Alameda Countywide Clean Water Program, a consortium of local agencies that was created in order to meet regulatory requirements jointly. The Water Pollution Source Control Division administers the City of Hayward’s individual Stormwater Program.
