The primary purpose of a fire sprinkler system is to prevent flashover. Once flashover occurs, the fire intensity immediately increases.
A Fire Department permit is required for all:
- new installations of a fire sprinkler system;
- alterations, repairs, and improvements to existing fire sprinkler systems.
The Fire Department plan checker reviews and approves fire sprinkler system plans for the Fire Marshal.
