A Fire Department annual permit is required for any:
- welding
- cutting
- grinding
- use of other similar open flame or spark producing appliances and equipment.
Before welding or cutting is permitted, a designated area must be approved by the Fire Prevention Office of the Hayward Fire Department. The purpose of the annual Fire Department permit is to assure that a fire inspection is made on a regular annual basis.
This inspection will verify that the original requirements are maintained and the designated area has not changed.
