A Fire Department permit is required for the operation of:
- any tent or temporary membrane structure having an area of 200 square feet;
- any canopy in excess of 400 square feet.
To obtain a Fire Department permit for a tent, canopy or temporary membrane structure:
- complete the Fire Department Permit Application;
- submit the permit application, appropriate fees and a scaled site plan for review and approval by the Hayward Fire Department's Fire Prevention Office
Once you have submitted the required information, an on-site inspection will be scheduled by the Fire Department.
