The purpose of underground fire service is to assure that an adequate amount of water from a reliable source is provided for Fire Department use in an emergency.
A Fire Department permit is required for the installation of underground fire service to assure that equipment and installation meet an acceptable standard. The permit process includes Fire Department plan review and field inspections.
