You’re invited to participate in the non-profit “California of the Past” Digital Storytelling Project.
Stories could include…
• What it was like when you (or your parents or grandparents) first came to California • Your past experiences and memories of the East Bay Area
• A place you remember
• Where you were when...
• Something you know or experienced in local history
Staff will help you record your story as a brief (3-5 minutes long) documentary. The finished video will include your photos, letters, music, etc., along with your voice and image. Stories will be preserved on archival DVD, and online on Hayward's Digital Stories page and on California's statewide Digital Story Station website. Participants will also receive a DVD copy of their mini-documentary.
No technical knowledge is necessary. All that is needed is a story to tell. Library staff will handle all the technical details.
This is a joint project of the Hayward Public Library and the Hayward Area Historical Society and is made possible through a grant from the California State Library.
