The provision of off-street parking spaces is required whenever:
- a new building is constructed
- an existing building is altered or enlarged
- a new use is established in an existing building
- additions to a single-family or multi-family dwelling increase the original floor area by more than 50% per unit or increase the number of sleeping rooms
The Hayward Parking Regulations includes:
- the required ratio of parking spaces for each use
- provisions for exclusions, reductions, exceptions and appeals
- location and design standards of parking and loading spaces
- parking requirements for persons with physical disabilities.
