An administrative use permit assures that certain property uses are consistent with zoning regulations and City policies. Uses that require an administrative use permit will vary by zoning district. Check the The process takes about six to eight weeks, not including time for the applicant to revise and resubmit plans and studies. The Administrative Use Permit must be approved before the business begins operation.
How to Apply for an Administrative Use Permit
General Steps:
1. Review the zoning regulations, that relate to your intended use with a Planner at the Permit Center.
2. If a use permit is needed, submit a completed application, the filing fee, and other required documents.
3. After review, the application is either approved, or denied by the Planning Director, or referred to the Planning Commission for a decision. Decisions by the Planning Director may be appealed, in writing, to the Planning Commission, within 15 days of denialthe decision.
4. Planning Commission actions can be appealed to the City Council (in writing) within 10 days after the decision is made.
