The standards for the height, placement and operation of security gates in new and existing commercial and multi-family residential zoning districts, and in single-family communities are outlined in the Hayward Municipal Code. The Code also addresses requirements for a temporary parking area between the security gate and the street right-of-way.
Site Plan Review is required prior to the construction of a security gate, unless the Planning Director determines that the gate design meets all requirements, City policies, standards and guidelines.
