Subdivisions include parcel maps, and tract maps for single-family homes, town homes, condominiums, industrial condominiums and condominium conversions.
Subdivision of land for development purposes is governed by the Hayward Municipal Code, , the California Environmental Quality Act and the State Subdivisions Map Act. The tentative map may be approved or denied by the Planning Director or Planning Commission.
If the subdivision will create four (4) or fewer lots, then a Tentative Parcel Map is required.
If the subdivision will create five (5) or more lots, then a Tentative Tract Map is required.
