The standards and process for the appropriate siting and change in location of any telecommunications antenna and a related facilities is outlined in the Hayward Municipal Code. This includes, but is not limited to, antennas for wireless telecommunications facilities and amateur radio installations. Consultation with a Planner is recommended to determine which type of application is necessary for your facility.
The Antenna and Telecommunications Ordinance in the Municipal Code includes:
- registration requirements for telecommunications carriers and providers
- minimum permit application requirements for Class 1, 2, and 3 facilities
- exceptions from requirements
- co-location and multiple-user facility requirements
- electromagnetic radiation emission requirements
- notice, appeal, referral and modification of permits
- removal of telecommunications facilities
