The Street Maintenance Division is responsible for repairing potholes and deteriorated asphalt surfaces on city streets. Two asphalt repair methods are used, "cold patch" or "hot patch." During the winter months, potholes are repaired using an all-season cold patch asphalt mix. During warmer months, potholes are repaired with a hot mix of asphalt (surface patching).
To report a pothole needing repair or a deteriorated asphalt surface, please submit a request below or call the Street Maintenance Division at 510-881-7745.
Asphalt and Slurry Seal projects are handled through Engineering & Transportation Division at 510-583-4735.
More extensive street repairs using the Asphalt Overlay, Deep Lift, or Slurry Seal techniques are handled by the City of Hayward’s Engineering & Transportation Division. To report a substantial street repair problem, please submit a request below or call 510-583-4735.
