Tours are provided at the nine Hayward Fire Stations from Monday through Saturday, 11:00am to noon, for school groups of up to 30 participants, including children and adult chaperones. Tours last between 30 to 45 minutes depending on the size of the Fire Station.
Please be aware that Firefighters are first-responders. That means there is no way of their knowing in advance when they will be called out to an emergency. If that occurs, the Firefighters may have to cancel or interrupt the tour.
To schedule a tour, contact Fire Station Tour at 510-583-8848. Include the following in your request:
- Tour date requested (a date at least four weeks in advance);
- Fire Station Number and address;
- Name of School;
- Number and ages of the children and number of adults. See Fire Station Tour Requirements for details about the number of adult chaperones needed and required identification;
- Contact person with an email address and/or day phone number.
