***Police staff will inspect, mark, and tow vehicles that appear to be abandoned on public and private property. A vehicle (auto, boat, camper, mobile home, RV, truck, etc.) is considered to be abandoned when:
- parked in one spot on public property or the street for over 72 hours;
- inoperative due to missing vehicle parts and parked on public property or the street; or
- inoperable and parked on private property.
When reporting an abandoned vehicle, please include the following:
- exact address (required for vehicles on private property) or street and cross-street where vehicle is parked;
- vehicle color, make and model;
- vehicle license plate number and State where issued;
- optional: your name and phone # in case more information is needed.
Report abandoned vehicles by email if possible. Please note that it will take between 7 to 21 days for a vehicle left on the street to be removed.
