Reporting Damaged Utilities

The City maintains City-owned sewer and water facilities. The public can assist in this effort by reporting possible leaks or damage to utilities, such as pipelines and fire hyrants. Crews are dispatched to repair damaged and leaking City-owned facilities.

City is responsible for maintaining:
  • water facilities on the street side of the water meter and the meter itself;

  • sewer facilities located in the public streets or easements, other than laterals.
Customer is responsible for maintaining and repairing:
  • leaks and damaged pipes on the customer side of the meter;

  • sewer laterals (connections between the public sewer and the building) - the portion on private property and the portion under the sidewalk and the street up to and including where the lateral connects to the public system.
