The Public Records Act requires "except with regard to public records exempt from disclosure provisions, each agency, upon request for copies of reasonably described and identified public records, shall make the records available upon payment of fees covering costs of duplication."
Many of the City of San Bernardino's public records can be requested through the City Clerk's Office. Upon receipt of a request for identifiable public records, the City Clerk's Office shall determine within ten (10) calendar days if the records are public, and maintained within the City Clerk's Office. If located within the City Clerk's Office, the requester shall be notified of an approximate time when the documents will be available and the total cost. For most documents the cost is $.35 for the 1st page, then $.15 per page thereafter.
You may contact the City Clerk's Office at 909-384-5002 or through this web site to determine if the documents you seek are public and available through the City Clerk.
