The City of Stockton has a very strict graffiti ordinance. The ordinance requires removal of graffiti within 48 hours of notification. Property owners are responsible for taking measures to prevent graffiti and for graffiti removal Graffiti is a crime and it adds blight to the City of Stockton. If you witness a vandal in the act of tagging, please call 9-1-1. Reports of graffiti on a surface or a suspected vandal, should be reported to the Graffiti Hotline. A reward of up to $1,000 is available for information leading to the arrest of a vandal. Do not assume that someone else has called, call the Graffiti Hotline at (209) 937-8040.
The Neighborhood Services Division will remove graffiti on private property with consent from the property owner. Property owners can print out a consent form, sign it, and mail or fax it to:
