Animal Shelter Directions/Hours

The City of Thornton shelters its animals at the Adams County Animal Shelter, located at 10705 Fulton St. The shelters hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. The shelter is open on Sunday for reclaims only from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and closed on holidays. They can be reached at 303-288-3294.

The Adams County Animal Shelter has animals available for adoption. Adopted cats and dogs will be spayed or neutered prior to taking the pet home. A list of veterinarians will be provided for a free health exam for your adopted pet.

The animals that are impounded by the City of Thornton are held for five days, excluding holidays. The shelter's phone number is 303-288-3294.
