Description
I am opposed to the memorandum for Stockton Unified Family Resource department to use the micro libraries. Measure M was passed by 73% of Stockton voters to enhance and support library services. It supports library programs and micro libraries. If this memorandum is approved, the micro libraries would be closed on alternating weeks. No programs would be available for children and adults. This seems to be a violation of Measure M. In addition, I am confused why SUSD would not want to use their neighborhood school sites. The schools are familiar to the students and their families. And many of the students and families have built meaningful relationships with the personnel at their neighborhood schools. If the purpose of the Family Resource programs is to support student learning and achievement, shouldn't these programs be available at the neighborhood schools?
Sincerely,
Kimberly Scheffer
